TRISTAN PAUL

Tristan Paul is a French artist and designer based in Montpellier.
Trained as a visual artist, he gradually turned his attention to plaster craftsmanship and object design. Trained in the rigorous traditions of the Compagnons du Tour de France, his research today is part of a desire to revive and modernize the skills associated with this material.
His work oscillates between rigor and controlled chance, giving rise to forms that are both familiar and strange. In an ethical and attentive approach, each piece is crafted entirely by hand, using low-tech processes.
Tristan Paul's creations are at the crossroads of tradition and modernity, with high standards and commitment.
WITH A DIVERSE BACKGROUND, THE TRISTAN PAUL STUDIO IS ROOTED IN A PASSION FOR PLASTER AND THE REVIVAL OF ANCIENT TECHNIQUES.
A PRACTICE WHERE SLOWLY SHAPED FORMS SEEK LESS TO SEDUCE THAN TO PROVOKE A GENTLE DISTURBANCE AND LEAVE A SENSITIVE, LASTING, AND ENIGMATIC IMPRINT.
